If you create an account, we collect your email address and secure authentication identifiers. Authentication is handled using trusted third-party services. We do not store passwords in plain text.
The app allows you to create cat profiles using information you choose to enter, such as your cat's name, age, breed, weight, or notes. This information is used only to personalise scan results and guidance within the app.
When you submit an item for scanning, you may provide an image or text description. These inputs are used solely to generate a scan result at the time of submission.
We also collect limited technical and usage data, including device type, operating system, feature usage, and crash diagnostics. This data is used to maintain app performance and stability.
3. Use of Scan Data and Safety Database
Toxic Kitty maintains an internal database to improve the speed, accuracy, and safety of scan results for all users.
When a scan is performed, we may extract non-identifiable information from the scan result, such as the name of an item and its toxicity classification. This information may be retained in anonymised form to improve future scans and expand our internal safety database.
Images submitted by users are never stored, retained, reused, or added to this database. Scan data used for improvement purposes is fully anonymised and cannot be linked back to an individual user, account, device, or cat profile.
4. Image and AI Processing
Images submitted for scanning are processed securely and temporarily using AI systems in order to generate a result. Images are not stored after processing, are not accessible to other users, and are not used to train public or third-party AI models.
Only anonymised scan outcomes, not images, may be retained for the purpose of improving Toxic Kitty's accuracy and performance.
5. How We Use Personal Data
Personal data collected through Toxic Kitty is used only to operate and improve the app. This includes providing scan results, personalising guidance based on cat profiles, managing accounts and subscriptions, responding to support requests, and maintaining app security and reliability.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Location and "Find a Vet" Feature
Toxic Kitty includes a feature that allows users to locate nearby veterinary services. When this feature is used, the app redirects the user to Google Maps with a pre-filled search query.
Toxic Kitty does not collect, store, or process precise location data. Any location information used during this process is handled directly by Google and is subject to Google's own Privacy Policy.
7. Analytics and Performance Monitoring
We use analytics and crash-reporting tools to understand how the app is used and to identify technical issues. This data is aggregated or anonymised where possible and is not linked to individual scans, images, or cat profiles.
8. Payments and Subscriptions
Payments and subscriptions are processed by third-party providers such as Apple or Google. Toxic Kitty does not store or process payment card details.
