These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Toxic Kitty mobile application (“Toxic Kitty”, “the App”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
About the Service
Toxic Kitty is a mobile application designed to assist cat owners by providing information about potentially toxic items and access to related safety guidance.
The App is provided for informational purposes only and does not replace professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
Certain features may require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Account information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Use of the App
You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose and in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws.
You must not:
- misuse or attempt to interfere with the App’s operation
- attempt to reverse engineer, extract, or scrape data from the App
- use the App in a manner that could harm the service, other users, or our systems
- use the App for non-pet or non-personal purposes without authorisation
User Content and Ownership
You may submit information to the App, including images, text descriptions, and cat profile data (“User Content”).
You retain ownership of your User Content.
By using the App, you grant Toxic Kitty a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to process User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the App, in accordance with these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Images submitted for scanning are processed transiently and are not stored or retained after processing, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Anonymised Scan Outcomes and Service Improvement
By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that Toxic Kitty may extract non-identifiable information from scan results, such as item names and toxicity classifications.
You grant Toxic Kitty a limited licence to use such anonymised and non-identifiable scan outcomes to operate, maintain, and improve the App, including the development of internal safety databases that benefit all users.
This licence does not include ownership of images, personal data, account information, or cat profile data.
AI-Generated Results and Limitations
Scan results and guidance provided by the App may be generated or assisted by automated systems, including artificial intelligence.
While reasonable efforts are made to provide accurate information, scan results:
- are informational only
- may not be complete or error-free
- should not be relied upon as a substitute for veterinary advice
You remain solely responsible for decisions made based on information provided by the App.
Location-Based Features
The App may include features that link you to third-party services, such as Google Maps, to locate veterinary services.
Toxic Kitty does not collect or store precise location data. Any location information used in connection with third-party services is handled by those services in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies. Users are responsible for complying with applicable third-party terms when using such services.
Subscriptions and Payments
Certain features of the App are available through paid subscriptions.
Subscriptions may include a free trial or introductory period. Unless cancelled before the end of the trial period, the subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and the applicable fee will be charged to your account.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID (or applicable platform account) at confirmation of purchase or at the end of any free trial period.
Subscriptions and renewals are managed by the platform provider (such as Apple or Google). You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings with the relevant platform provider.
Toxic Kitty does not control subscription billing, renewal timing, or refunds and does not store payment card information. Refund requests are handled by the platform provider in accordance with their refund policies.
Availability and Changes to the Service
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Features may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the App, including software, design, text, and branding, belong to Toxic Kitty or its licensors.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use our intellectual property except as necessary to use the App in accordance with these Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or misuse the service.
You may stop using the App at any time. Data handling following termination is governed by the Privacy Policy.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Toxic Kitty shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, including reliance on information provided through scan results or guidance.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Apple iOS End-User License Agreement Addendum
The following terms apply to users accessing the App on Apple-branded devices and are intended to comply with Apple’s minimum End-User License Agreement requirements:
- Acknowledgement
You acknowledge that this agreement is concluded between you and Toxic Kitty only, and not with Apple. Toxic Kitty, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. - Scope of Licence
You are granted a non-transferable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions. This licence is subject to Apple’s Usage Rules, including Family Sharing or volume purchasing where applicable. - Maintenance and Support
Toxic Kitty is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services. - Warranty
Toxic Kitty is solely responsible for any warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. - Product Claims
Toxic Kitty, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and use of the App, including product liability claims, claims of regulatory non-compliance, and claims arising under consumer protection or privacy laws. - Intellectual Property Rights
In the event of any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights, Toxic Kitty, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of such claims. - Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. - Developer Information
